The Reddit user explained in a post that she has naturally light blonde hair and matching eyebrows that are "nearly invisible."

She recalled how her brows became a major "insecurity" for her after constantly being "made fun of" by friends and even family members.

"They didn’t show up in pictures, and I’d even use an app to edit some in," she said of her pale brows.

She used to religiously color them in with a brown pencil until she found a longer-lasting solution.

"I spent the last six years [penciling] them in almost every day, panicking when the pencil ran out, and getting stressed when I messed them up in a rush," she said.

After a friend recommended she inquire about options that would make the color on her brows last longer, she did some of her own research.

One solution was professional tinting, but with a cost of $45 a session, she was determined to find another way to get the same results.

"I found a tutorial on how to DIY dye them for about $10," she said.

Once she decided to go for it, she grabbed a box of Just for Men Mustache and Beard dye in the blonde shade, Q-tips, and a brow brush.

She admitted that she was "terrified" at first, but her fears were unwarranted.

My $14.90 buy helped fill in my patchy brows – they’re definitely thicker and so long I have to trim them now

After using Chapstick to "outline around the brow and prevent skin staining," she mixed the dye in a bowl and applied it to brows.

She used a Q-tip to wipe off excess dye for "finer shaping" and even plucked a few stray hairs while waiting for the color to set.

She said she only had to leave the dye on for about five to seven minutes to achieve her desired results.

The original poster was thrilled to see that she finally had the brows of her dreams after washing off the dye.

Every time I see them, I smile! In case anyone needs some encouragement, do it!

"They look natural and make me feel normal! I woke up this morning and didn’t have to pencil them in or worry about smudging them as I got ready," she said.

"Every time I see them, I smile! In case anyone needs some encouragement, do it!" she added.

It was safe to say that her confidence was as noticeable as her brows.

She also shared additional tips that she got from her friend.

If you are debating between two shades, "choose the lighter one," she advised.

She recommended wiping off the dye after three minutes to check the color and applying more if you want a darker shade.

"I purposely kept mine a light color, just dark enough to give definition but keep the natural look. We can't let the men know we dye our brows!" she said.

She also warned against dying your brows after a wax to avoid irritation.

Dermatologist-approved anti-aging tips

Dermatologist Dr. Brendan Camp shared his dermatologist-approved tips with The U.S. Sun.

  • Stop using tanning beds.
  • Don't use sunscreen to contour your face.
  • Wear driving gloves to protect your hands from the sun. He likes Coolibar Gannett UV Gloves UPF 50+, $15.99 to $39.
  • Exercise, stick to a healthy diet, and get enough sleep.
  • Don't drink excessively or smoke.

The Redditor said she opted to use beard dye instead of hair dye because her friend told her it is "less intense" and meant to be used on the face.

She explained that the Just for Men kit comes with two resealable tubes - a color base and developer - that you mix together in equal amounts.

Brows only require a small amount of dye, which means you can use the kit multiple times before it runs out.

She was so impressed with her results that she urged others to try the trick.

"Oh boy do I feel you! My brows are insanely light and I've always hated it. I've never considered trying to dye them but now I'm thinking of giving it a shot," said one user.

"Fellow blonde eyebrow owners rise up! Smart suggestion, I never thought about using the beard dye, but that’s brilliant!" wrote another Redditor.

Yet another user had their own suggestion.

"Been doing this for years! Vaseline works just as well as Chapstick. A box should last you a year or more. Do not use on eyelashes!" they said.

Just for Men Mustache and Beard Dye sells for $28.49 on Amazon and is available in 12 shades.
