Syniverse Joins GSMA Open Gateway to Expand Enterprise Access to Mobile Networks
Syniverse, the world's most connected company®, has joined the GSMA Open Gateway initiative, a global effort to make mobile networks more accessible to developers and businesses through standardized technology. As one of Open Gateway's newest channel partners, Syniverse will help expand awareness of open network APIs so companies can build and deliver digital services with greater speed, security, and scale.
The GSMA Open Gateway program introduces a set of common network APIs designed to simplify how organizations interact with mobile operator infrastructure. Backed by 73 of the world's largest mobile network operators (MNOs) and representing almost 80% of global mobile connections, the initiative is designed to create seamless user experiences, enable secure and scalable services, and support the increasing demands of technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence (AI).
As part of this collaboration, Syniverse will help broaden developer access to mobile networks and enable new capabilities across industries that depend on real-time data and intelligent applications — particularly those powered by AI. Businesses can access APIs to support device location, SIM swap detection, number verification, and quality on demand for use in areas like authentication, fraud prevention, and customer engagement.
"Joining GSMA Open Gateway positions Syniverse to give enterprises direct, programmatic access to mobile network capabilities that have traditionally required deeper network integration," said Nathan Robbins, Vice President of Go-to-Market Strategy and Alliances of Syniverse. "As AI-driven services place new demands on connectivity, our role in this initiative allows customers to integrate with mobile infrastructure in a way that is faster, more secure, and built for scale."
By joining the channel partner workstream, Syniverse will participate in the framework's technical, product, and business initiatives, contributing to the adoption of standardized APIs. These efforts are shaping the next generation of connectivity services across finance, transportation, health care, and logistics.
“We’re delighted to welcome Syniverse on board as an official GSMA Channel Partner,” said Henry Calvert, Head of Networks at the GSMA. “Syniverse has a wealth of experience in connecting global carriers and enterprises and we look forward to working with them to help enterprise developers digitally transform their businesses by utilizing the rich capabilities of 5G networks.”
This membership builds on Syniverse's decades of experience and longstanding role as a trusted intermediary between MNOs and enterprises. By aligning with Open Gateway, Syniverse strengthens its ability to help organizations compete in a growing digital ecosystem with consistency and confidence.
