Why Aussie adopted high-fat diet in ‘drastic’ bid to get ‘desired body’

‘It is probably the only time you can eat what you want and not feel bad about it’

How Aussie gained weight for Brazilian butt lift

Collecting photos of celebrities who possessed her “desired body”, Carlin Holland set out to transform her physique.

She wanted a Brazilian butt lift, or BBL - a reshaping and enlarging of the buttocks, using excess fat from the stomach.

But a plastic surgeon told her one thing - she was too slim to qualify for the procedure.

So, for six months the 22-year-old ate whatever she felt like.

“The surgeon wanted me to gain the weight healthily so I was in the best shape for surgery,” Carlin tells 7Life.

“And it is probably the only time you can eat what you want and not feel bad about it.”

Six weeks ago, after her successful weight gain, the young woman underwent her dramatic transformation - and is loud and proud about her new dream backside.

Why plastic surgery

Carlin concedes she had low self confidence, something which surfaced in her teens.

Growing up a “bigger girl”, she began focusing on her weight, heading to the gym and eating smaller portions.

But as the kilos dropped, the Perth teenager lost the shape to her bottom.

“When I was bigger, I would have a big bum and stomach,” she says.

“And when I would lose weight I would have a flat stomach and bum.

“I was so self conscious about that.”

To combat this, she began strict exercises directly aimed at gaining muscle and growing her backside but no matter how hard she worked out, nothing changed.

That’s when she learnt about the BBL procedure.

“It gives you that flat stomach and the bigger bum,” Carlin says.

The BBL diet

After strenuous research, Carlin chose a clinic in Sydney.

Her doctor advised that, with the young woman’s slimmer frame, she would need to gain around 5kg to achieve the look in the image she had supplied.

Carlin booked the surgery - and began eating as much food as she possibly could.

“I was just eating all my favourite foods and loved having Freddo Frog icecream cake for dessert,” she says.

“And of course pasta.”

She would often start the day with a bacon and egg roll and iced coffee with cream and chocolate topping before having another four meals and snacks.

She’d finish the day with a large takeaway order or a big bowl of creamy pasta.

And she never missed dessert.

She didn’t keep track of how many calories she was consuming but always opted for food high in fat.

And she knew she was ‘sizing up’ when her favourite clothes were a more snug fit.

Carlin then began filming her “what I eat in a day” videos on TikTok and quickly gained a huge following.

Six months later, the young woman happily gained around 7-10kg.

With her new figure, she boarded a plane from Perth to Sydney to undergo the operation.

Surgeons successfully removed five litres of fat from her stomach, injecting it evenly into each buttock.

They also removed fat from her back, flanks and sacral area, implanting it into her behind as well.

Recovery

Carlin was prepared for a difficult recovery but says she wasn’t in as much pain as she had predicted.

After two weeks of sitting on a specially designed pillow, and receiving daily massages, Carlin has the all clear to start gentle exercise and remove all compression bandages.

“Now I look in the mirror and love it so much, I want another,” she says.

Whilst Carlin is over the moon with her new bottom, she doesn’t want everyone to think they need plastic surgery to be happy with their body.

“I don’t like to promote my BBL,” she says.

“But if other girls want it, I’m going to be honest about my experience.”
