What happens when you let a two-year-old do your makeup? Well, Hilary Duff gave us an idea this weekend after letting her adorable daughter Banks give it a try, and her response to the toddler's work is pretty priceless.

On Saturday, January 23, the Younger star shared a photo of her daughter's attempt at doing her makeup on Instagram via her Stories. In the photo, Duff's lips and cheeks are partially covered in silver pigment, though it's unclear what type of makeup Banks used. If we had to guess, though, it was probably some sort of metallic eye shadow that she found in her mom's collection. Or, perhaps she used Maybelline's Color Sensational Matte Metallics Lipstick in Smoked Silver? Sure, it's unlikely, but the lipstick shade is a pretty spot-on match.

Shortly after posting a selfie of her makeup, Duff shared another photo featuring her hands covered in what appears to be blue marker. "Ooops nails aren't going to match continuity.... the baby made me do it ... hand tats by Banks," she wrote on top of the photo. We have to imagine many moms can relate to Duff's experience, and most likely really appreciate her sharing it.

Of course, the former Disney darling isn't the only celebrity mom to let her toddler do her makeup. Last fall, Chrissy Teigen and Charlize Theron both shared what happened when they gave their kids permission to play makeup artist, and well, if you need a laugh, look no further.

It goes without saying, but we love to see that Banks already has an interest in makeup. Who knows: Maybe she'll become a MUA and work with her mom for real someday.
