Hemp, Inc. to Sponsor Hemp X in Asheville, NC

/EINPresswire.com/ -- ASHEVILLE, NC -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/16 -- Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) executives announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC, will sponsor the "hempcentric" festival, HEMP X, today and Saturday at the Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, North Carolina. The family-friendly free event, being held today and tomorrow, will host Asheville-area farmers, entrepreneurs, and other small business owners in an effort to highlight the economic benefits of growing industrial hemp while educating Americans on the importance of hemp and the multiple uses and benefits of industrial hemp.

David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.'s Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC, said, "We are pleased to be one of the sponsors of this year's event. A lot has changed since the last Hemp X festival. We are now in the final stages of getting our 70,000 square foot multi-purpose industrial hemp processing facility operational and Governor Pat McCrory signed into law House Bill 992 which modified the industrial hemp research program by clarifying the definition of research purposes and the responsibilities of licenses. So, we're definitely looking forward to networking and even collaborating with other major players in the industry. There are so many opportunities for us now."

According to the Hemp X Asheville website, the event will "feature over 40 vendors, including the NC Industrial Hemp Association, from eleven states," and will offer free music nightly.

Tomorrow, Hemp X will focus on veterans and hemp farming. Attendees will learn more about Growing Warriors, the non-profit organization founded by Mike Lewis who was the first farmer legally allowed to plant industrial hemp, again, in the U.S. His organization, Growing Warriors, is "dedicated to training veterans to grow their own food for their families and children." This presentation will be moderated by Kristin L. Jordan, Esq., of Newman Ferrara LLP and will include Mike Lewis; Fred Curtis-Lewis, another Veteran, of Vetscape; Duane Lewis, Veteran and Co-Owner of Patriotic Hemp; and, Mike Bowman, Chairman of the National Hemp Association on the panel. The short film, Harvesting Liberty, by Patagonia will also be shown.

Hemp X will also feature a hemp fashion show. "Kacie Lynn, an alpaca farmer, designer, educator, and sustainable textile advocate will incorporate fabrics from multiple designers in the Hemp X fashion show." Lynn facilitates kinesthetic learning experiences to people of all ages on the soil-to-skin process of growing, designing, and creating a variety of fiber-related goods at Fiber Farm in Tennessee.

"Hemp is such an incredibly versatile crop. The hemp fiber is used for a myriad of products including health foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics and body care products, building materials, automobile parts, bio-composites, batteries, bio-fuel, textiles, paper and many others. There are over 25,000 products made using hemp," said Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP)

As Industrial hemp continues to reclaim its rightful place in America, demand for this environmentally friendly natural fiber continues to increase. The economic benefits are simply overwhelming. "The hemp revolution is unstoppable. Hemp, Inc. has its commercial decortication facility in place to soon fill the increased demand for processing the fiber and will also be able to deploy portable decorticators to more and more farmers as they also begin to grow hemp," says Perlowin.

If you'd like to share in the festivities and network with some of the experts in the industry, the Hemp X venue, Highland Brewing Company, is located just a few minutes from downtown Asheville, conveniently off I-240, and easily accessible from I-40 and I-26. Festivities are today, Friday, August 19, 2016, from noon to 10:00 pm eastern standard time and tomorrow, Saturday, August 20, 2016, from noon to 10:00 pm eastern standard time. All events in the Hemp X festival are FREE except for the "Taste of Hemp." If you'd like to attend "Taste of Hemp" during Hemp X, tickets can be purchased here.

In Washington State, the Seattle Hempfest, the premier flagship event of the global cannabis culture, is celebrating its 25th anniversary today through August 21, 2016 in Seattle, Washington. "The Seattle Hempfest is the most sophisticated and socially responsible cannabis rally in history, and perhaps the largest annual free speech event in the nation." ABOUT INDUSTRIAL HEMP
Hemp is a durable natural fiber that is grown as a renewable source for raw materials that can be incorporated into thousands of products. It's one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. Hemp is used as a nutritional food product for humans and pets, building materials, paper, textiles, cordage, organic body care and other nutraceuticals, just to name a few. It has thousands of other known uses. A hemp crop requires half the water alfalfa uses and can be grown without the heavy use of pesticides. Farmers worldwide grow hemp commercially for fiber, seed, and oil for use in a variety of industrial and consumer products. The United States is the only developed nation that fails to cultivate industrial hemp as an economic crop on a large scale, according to the Congressional Resource Service. However, with rapidly changing laws and more states gravitating towards industrial hemp and passing an industrial hemp bill, that could change. Currently, the majority of hemp sold in the United States is imported from China and Canada, the world's largest exporters of the industrial hemp crop.

HEMP, INC.'S TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE
Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies from a "Cultural Creative" perspective, thereby not exploiting or endangering any group. CEO of Hemp, Inc., Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. Thus, the publicly traded company believes in "up streaming" a portion of its profits back to its originator, in which some cases will one day be the American small farmer -- cultivating natural, sustainable products as an interwoven piece of nature. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results -- that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits -- the triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support its sustainability goal.
