The Mets (17-18, 4th NL East) are coming off a 4-3 win in Game 1 to help snap a three-game losing skid against the Rays over the weekend. A win Tuesday could put New York back in the black, but the Cardinals are hungry for a win in front of the home crowd. St. Louis is 15-20 and last in the NL Central, and on its own three-game slide.

New York appeared in command of Game 1 through the fifth inning, racking up a 3-0 lead off an RBI double from DJ Stewart in the first inning and a sacrifice fly from Francisco Lindor in the fifth to bring home Starling Marte and Brandon Nimmo. Sean Manaea held off the Cards for five innings, but gave up three runs in the sixth, including a game-tying double by Ivan Herrera.

Brett Baty had a much-replayed moment in the first inning where a tough play bounced behind third and he collided with the umpire in an attempt to snag it and send it flying to first base. Both Baty and the ump were ok.

The Mets will start Jose Butto opposite Miles Mikolas for the Cardinals on Tuesday. Here’s how to stream it.
